Bachmann HO Train - The Keystone

Bachmann's HO The KeystoneThe Pennsylvania Railroad was one of the largest in the world for much of the one hundred and twenty-two years it was in operation. The keystone crest of Pennsylvania is “The Standard Railroad of America.” Moreover, the Pennsylvania Railroad was very much the standard, with more than 10,000 miles of tracks. Running those 10,000 miles of track were almost 7,000 locomotives and more than 250,000 cars.

To commemorate the long and distinguished history of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Bachmann Industries has released the HO Spectrum “The Keystone” electronic toy train set. The Keystone set comes with a K4 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive with tender that features a working headlight. Also included are the coach and observation cars, both with interior lighting. The E-Z Track®, colored nickel silver, has sixteen pieces of curved track, each twenty-two inches long and three pieces of straight track. The E-Z Track® system combines the track and elevated rail bed into single pieces making layout assembly a ‘snap’. There are enough sections of track to allow assembly of several track layouts that are very easy to change. Also included are a plug-in terminal re-railer and the Spectrum® power pack. The power pack is an electric transformer that converts household AC current to DC current to allow operation of the locomotive and all lights.

If you are new to train sets, do not worry. The HO Spectrum “The Keystone” set comes with a VHS tape detailing the set up of the track, the power pack and how to operate the train. The Keystone set is an HO scale train. That is the most popular scale for electronic toy train sets. The cars are approximately six inches long and one and a half inches high. This HO train can easily fit in just about any space and look wonderful as it runs. The HO Spectrum “The Keystone” set is definitely one to buy.
